It is not always easy, it requires ability to
take responsibility, to be grateful for whatever is here and now, takes courage
and demands a certain sense of humor, it’s called living.
"…
‘What are you whispering?’ asked the man behind
the gates.
‘I'm saying the prayer for the dead.’
‘You'd better say the prayer for the living; they
have it harder.’
‘You've seen a lot, you must know what you're
talking about.’
‘What do I care whether you think I know what I'm
talking about?’
‘How many people have come through this gate?’
‘More than have gone back out. And they're all
accounted for.’
‘Where?’
‘Up there, in the graveyard.’
‘It's bad to joke like that, my friend.’
‘They're joking. And you're joking. And now get
out of here.’
‘Does one really have to be rude in your
position?’
‘Does one really have to be stupid in yours? Come
inside, step over the threshold; it's only a few inches and you'll start
talking differently right away.’
Only a few inches, that much, and right away
everything would be different
