Value system of pretense...

Our value system promotes automatically frauds and crooks when our living or our recognition depends only on the number of students, electors, patients, fans, followers, devotees, connections we actually manage to get or convince, let’s say on pleasing a maximum of people because they can all potentially become our ‘customers’. No matter what we talk about then, the truth is we are in a ‘market’ where the only associated technique for success is called ‘marketing’.
And then how can we lead with integrity? How can we teach with substance? How can we heal with medicine or love? How can we truly create something? How can we be?

We can only pretend.
(Goradana)

“The church has been brought into the same value system as the world: fame, success, materialism and celebrity. We watch the leading churches and the leading Christians for our cues. We want to emulate the best known preachers with the biggest sanctuaries and the grandest edifices. Preoccupation with these values has perverted the church's message.”
(Chuck Colson)
